The Talbots Charitable Foundation
Established in 2001, the Talbots Charitable Foundation is a private foundation that is primarily focused on helping women improve their lives through education. The Foundation's core program is the Talbots Women's Scholarship Fund, which has helped more than 600 women return to college later in life.
Talbots believes in helping women through education and we are currently evaluating our scholarship program to ensure it is as impactful as possible given available resources and scholarship needs. Please feel free to check back with us for further details.
Giving Back
Talbots gives back in a variety of ways and promotes opportunities for associates to give back too. As one example, the company coordinated volunteer days for associates to sort and process a massive accumulation of samples at its Distribution Center in Lakeville, Mass. Through this initiative, Talbots donated more than 15,000 merchandise samples to various Dress for Success chapters throughout the U.S. and Good 360. In the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, Talbots associates ran sample sale events at its Hingham headquarters and New York office to raise a total of $76,000 for the American Red Cross. The remaining samples were then sorted and donated to Dress for Success, Good 360 and a local high school's theatre department.
In Hingham, the company organizes giving campaigns, silent auctions, bake sales and tag sales for local charities. As part of its annual holiday giving campaign, the company collects gifts for teens with behavioral issues, food and supplies for crisis centers, pet food for an animal shelter, winter coats for kids and more.
The company also makes in-kind donations of merchandise and gift cards to help nonprofit organizations raise money through silent auctions, raffles and other fundraising efforts.
