New Beginnings for Women & Children helps homeless women from the Tucson area build stable lives for themselves and their children. The program offers a continuum of services for families on the journey from crisis to independence. It enables women to upgrade their job skills, obtain additional education and increase their self-confidence. Women work intensively one-on-one with a case manager. Also available are programs that focus on children to help them address the developmental, social and academic lags that homeless children often experience. Aftercare is also available to women and children who have moved on to permanent housing.
A J. Jill Compassion Fund grant of $5,000 will enable New Beginnings for Women & Children to support its family self-sufficiency program.
